Inter-PC's Web Page Policies

Web Page Policies

Subscribers to Inter-PC can place web pages on-line at no extra cost. As long as the site doesn't cross the line of being a business page, there is no extra charge to have a personal not-for-profit webpage. The overall size of all html, image, and other web related files is governed by the time option purchased:

      100 Block hours more . . . . . . . 1 Mb
      30 hours/month . . . . . . . . . . . . 5 Mb
      100 hours/month . . . . . . . . . . . 5 Mb
      200 hours/month . . . . . . . . . . . 5 Mb
      Business accounts . . . . . . . . . 10 Mb

Note: For free personal web site you must have a minimum 100 hour block account or any monthly account.

If you require more than the alotted amount of disk space, please contact the office. Note that the above disk limits are for web pages only and files in your account that are NOT in your "www" directory are not counted. All web pages on Inter-PC must adhere to the following rules:

Content:

  • No web page may contain materials that Inter-PC deems "inappropriate". This includes, but is not limited to, pornography and hate literature.

  • Pages may not contain any materials that infringe on copyright laws. This includes such things as images scanned without permission, pirated files for download, text quoted without consent, etc. (Inter-PC accepts no responsibility for your page content so if we miss it, oh well.)
  • Web pages may not contain advertising for competitors' services.
  • Web pages cannot simply be front-ends for web pages stored on another service.
  • Those that do not abide by guideline are subject to removal at any time without notice.

3rd Party Hosting:

If you wish to host another website where you store web pages for other people in your own account, you must pay additional fees. This applies whether you charge your clients or not. For more details contact the office. You may not resell or host website other than your own without previous authorization from Inter-PC.

Ownership:

Inter-PC claims no ownership of your web pages. If you decide at some point to move your pages to another service, Inter-PC won't stand in your way. The only part you will not be able to take with you are the extra features and security that Inter-PC provides.

Final Word:

In all instances Inter-PC has the final word on what is and isn't an acceptable web page. Inter-PC reserves the right to change or amend these policies and edit or remove the website at any time without notice. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the office.

Other Policies:
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU PAY LATE

Billing costs and management represent a significant operating expense for any internet provider. In order to keep billing costs low, we operate our billing and credit under strict terms and penalties. In general, Inter-PC will attempt to notify you in email that you are late paying, or your credit card was declined. However, during that time you risk your account being suspended. If this happens we will bill you $15 to reactivate your account to cover the administration of this deactivation/reactivation process.

If you are paying late and you wish to pay by credit card for one period only, we will charge you a $5 processing fee due to the complications and costs of doing mixed billing on your account.

Customers who pay late will very likely lose access for those days. We do not make exceptions for this. If you mailed a check late and found your account suspended, you must provide a credit card for instant reactivation. The cheque we receive will serve as a credit towards the following period. Communications that 'the check is in the mail' will be ignored.

Unpaid accounts during your first period will likely result in account termination. Unpaid accounts during later periods will likely result in account suspension. Termination results in completely deleting your record. Your username and email will be lost. Suspension generally lasts a month or so until the system administrators 'clean up' these accounts, meaning termination. There is no set period for such maintenance.

To reactivate a terminated account, you must apply for an account like you did originally, and you must repay the $25 Setup Fee. Terminated accounts may take up to 1-2 business days to reactivate.

Customers who reactivate suspended accounts will ultimately pay for the period the account was suspended up to 30 days, even though you weren't able to access the account as an additional penalty for paying late. Suspended accounts may take up to a full day to reactivate.

As a policy, Inter-PC does not suspend accounts on Friday, giving you time before the weekend to make an emergency payment.

Customers who repeatedly pay late will be required to pay by credit card for future payments. Inter-PC reserves the right to refuse service to customers who continually have payment problems.

Customers who fail to pay for services rendered will be referred to a collections and/or court action which will result additional court costs and damage to your credit rating.
